SFLIS Minutes - July 21, 2004 - A student group got in trouble last year for holding an event which had male strippers and paying for it with student funds. But apparently the punishment amounted to a slap on the wrist. Should SFLIS have something like that? If we have female strippers could we pass it off as an anime cosplay with fan service? Ok, we'll put this one on the back burner for now. - We're going to need a new president pretty soon. Anyone interested? The president needs to be a student. - Sit-down Soul Calibur. An all-day game with conveniences and a privacy curtain that you can pull when you have to go. But the machine only dispenses toilet paper if you win. - There's an anime showing on Sunday July 25. Showing Kino's Travels - it's really good! We think there are 13 episodes in the series. And in contrast to that, will probably also show DearS, which is apparently pretty bad. - The Onion changed the format of their website so you can't print the whole thing out at once any more. Now you have to print each article separately. So we won't be having it at the meetings any more. - If you wanted to start an unsubstantiated rumor about yourself, how would you do it? - Reverse karaoke - the machine sings and you have to play the accompaniment. - Does anyone have copies of old SWAMP anime show flyers from 1995, 1999, and 2000? - There's a Soul Calibur tournament Aug. 8 at the arcade at Coral Ridge. We think the admission fee is $10. - Otakuberfest, our SFLIS anime fest, will be at the end of October. Or Otaku-ber. Or Otak-Uber. Or.... Formerly known as Marty Gras. - Soong created Data. Brent Spiner is going to play his great great great.... grandfather. Singh is Kahn. Also known as Mr. Rourke. - We're going to wait for actual fall, as opposed to virtual fall, to do our video night where we watch the director's/actors' DVD commentaries. - And that's it for this week.
