SFLIS Minutes - March 10, 2004 - In our last two meetings, Josh ascended to godhood, but they sent him back. - We have a new member tonight! - There's a new movie coming out. Vampire Hellsing? Or something. Is it related to the anime Hellsing? Probably not. Has anybody heard about it? No. - Our new member has just left. Maybe because of the cigarette smoke from one of the nearby tables? But he'll be back. - Some SFLIS news. A suggestion to have a SFLIS/SWAMP fest. Anime-related, for one day. Since AnimeIowa is no longer in the area, it might be a good idea to do one. Sort of an AnimeIowa Lite. But the earliest we can do it is probably fall. It would be nice to rent the ballroom in the IMU. We could have video rooms, panels, a mini cosplay. Call it Marty Con? Or Marty Gras. Marty Gras in August? If we want to use it as a promotion for AnimeIowa, it would have to be in August or early September. If we skip Labor Day weekend, that leaves us with about two weekends to work with. Maybe have it in late August? On AnimeIowa's former weekend? We'll have to wait and see. - Somehow we end up discussing what winters are like in Japan. It depends on where you go. There's a big difference between north and south. - Supposedly, there's a vocal version of Dance Dance Revolution where you sing instead of dance. - A police car with sirens blaring goes by, so we start to speculate on whether the bodies have been disposed of well enough. - And then the discussion comes around to role playing games and gnome wizards. Gnome wizards, Nome wizards, a character class for role playing games that take place in Alaska. - Somebody told me to put this quote in here: "Go ahead and yank it." This is regarding the SWAMP anniversary show and deciding what to do with leftover commercial VHS tapes. That's enough for this week.
