SFLIS Minutes - November 26, 2003

- The weapons from Nausicaa of the Valley of Wind are for sale at
  http://club.buenavista.jp.  They come with bullets that say "Nausicaa"
  on them.  367,500 yen for the most expensive ones.
- The Nausicaa limited edition DVD has arrived.  It comes with its own
  carrying case.  Has 2 disks - one for the movie and one for the extras.
  So, will it become available for sale in the US any time soon?
- We were going to send some books from the SFLIS desk to Iraq but the SAC
  was closed so we couldn't get in there to get them.  We'll try again the
  next time they're asking for donations.
- We're going to see Return of the King on Dec. 17.
- There's a SWAMP anime showing on Dec. 7.  C125 Poppajohn Business Bldg,
  1-8pm.  Featuring an unnamed classic anime movie.
- Dec. 14, there will be video gaming and maybe some anime, starting at 1pm,
  C125 PBAB.
- There's a Mindbridge meeting after SFLIS next week.
- The most powerful diesel engine in the world!  14 cylinder version weighs
  2300 tons.  89 feet long, 44 ft. high.  108,920 hp at 102 rpm.
  At its most efficient power setting, it uses 1660 gallons of heavy fuel
  oil per hour.
  The article doesn't say what kind of vehicle they plan to put it in.
- Finding Nemo and The Two Towers are only $0.1 million apart in earnings
  for the year.
- At the end of the meeting, a new member showed up!  We do some quick
  introductions.
