SFLIS Minutes - July 30, 2003 - We're back at The Mill this week. - According to a "real" news article that's being passed around, the Linux and Free BSD mascots are targeting poor, defenseless, innocent children to suck them into the world of alternative OS's. They're as bad as Joe Camel. What is the world coming to? - Josh isn't here today, so who wants to lead the meeting? Our mascot is here, so how about her? - Nausicaa is coming out on DVD soon in Japan. You can get the regular DVD or the deluxe package that comes with an Ohmu. Don't know how big it it, but they say it's too large for airmail. - How would they go about making a live-action Transformers movie? We don't know, but we're going to find out because they're planning to make one. - Now we're talking about cons in Toronto and guests bringing SARS and monkey pox to our local cons. And other miscellaneous stuff, such as: If AnimeIowa keeps growing, there are bigger convention centers in Des Moines and Davenport that they can move to. But downtown Des Moines empties out at night and all the restaurants close, so there's no convenient place to eat. They do that in Chicago and London too. London has lots of pubs, small casinos, and internet cafes. And really good, convenient public transportation. Has anyone noticed that Best Buy's anime section keeps getting bigger and bigger? - The end.
