SFLIS Minutes - July 9, 2003 - The Mill will reopen under new ownership later this month or next month, which means that we might end up meeting there again. We'll need to see what the new owners say about it first, though. Yes, The Mill, version 2.0. For the next couple weeks at least, we'll continue meeting at Pizza on Dubuque. - Movie night tonight - King Kong vs. Godzilla. We won't have a movie night in August but probably will in September. - Paul Clites died. Nobody knows how yet. There's a memorial service on Saturday, 11am in Des Moines. If anyone needs a ride, email lynda-sherman@uiowa.edu. - If you weren't at the anime showing Sunday, you can vote for the next new series to go through right here at the meeting! - On July 19 at 1pm we're trashing Marty's house. Or rather, we're going to Marty's place to play with his toys. If you want, you can bring your computer and download anime. There will be pinball, video games, anime, maybe some combat Solitaire using cordless mice? - Article from The Onion: "Giant Girl Forces Playthings Cheny And Rumsfeld To Wed." And it even has pictures. - We heard that Convergence went pretty well. - Now we talk about jury duty, since one of the people at the meeting today is on a jury. Can't give us any of the details though. We come up with some ideas as to why some people get called for jury duty while others don't. Coincidence, maybe? And also some ways to avoid it, and we hear of the experiences of other people who've done it in the past. - More stories of people breaking things at KCRG. And on channel 15 or 20, you can sometimes hear someone playing space pinball in the background. - And now, since it's about time to head over to Jared's place for the movie, those who are going go over there and those who aren't don't.
