SFLIS Minutes - April 9, 2003

- There was a meeting last week but no minutes.
- We speculate as to why there are so few people here.  Do they want to take
  one last look at the snow before the rest of it melts?  Or are they at home
  watching statues of Saddam Hussein being knocked down?  Over and over again.
- According to the original story, Astro Boy was first turned on on April
  7, 2003.
- The town of F***ing, Austria keeps getting its sign stolen.  (The town's
  name is pronounced 'fooking,' by the way.)  There are pictures at

- Let's set something up in May.
  We'll set up a movie going to fest in May.  We'll also work on our grammar.
  What's coming out in May?  X-Men, Matrix, maybe?
- SWAMP anime showing this Sunday, the 13th.  1-8pm, C125 Poppajohn.
  Next Sunday is Easter.
  The Sunday after that is SWAMP's 8th anniversary show.
  The Sunday after that is DemiCon.  And for those not going to Demicon, there
  will be games in Poppajohn, since we have the room reserved on that day.
  The Sunday after that is a SWAMP anime showing.
  The Sunday after that is an arcade game auction in Des Moines.
  May 24 is the Mindbridge picnic.
  And one of the Sundays after that will be the first summer anime showing.
- According to the people who were there, last week's SFLIS meeting was a lot
  like this one, except that there were more people there.
- Anime Iowa has been consumed by Mindbridge.  People suggested several
  gruesome images to illustrate it, but since this is text-only.......
- Several new anime series starting in Japan right now, including a new Astro
  Boy series.
- Question:  Would you buy a car on ebay?
- We talk some more about F***ing, Austria and suggest some creative names for
  businesses there.  Does their post office get a lot of business from people
  wanting F***ing postmarks?
- There's an RPGA game day on the weekend of the 20th.
- Tonight is SFLIS's movie night.  The cool ones of us are going to watch
  Star Crash now.
