SFLIS Minutes - March 13, 2002 - We start out with some talk about circuit boards. - April 28 is the SWAMP anniversary show. Will probably show Metropolis, since it's supposed to be available by then. There will be a bunch of tapes to give away, and maybe some free drinks. - There are rumors about Disney having the rights to the Miyazaki movie, 'Spirited Away.' If they do, does that mean we'll never see it? - Star Wars opens on May 16. We're sure about it this time. It's a Thursday. - Where is everyone? There are only 4 of us here. Ok, now we're up to 5. - Has anyone come up with a good logo for Mindbridge? - We might have our movie night tonight. It depends on whether anyone shows up there. We're on the schedule that they post by the entrances to the IMU and it says in big bold printing that we're going to show Evolution. - The university gave us most of what we asked for in the budget. - Now we talk about bank statements and ATM fees and bank fees, and whether it would be cheaper to just hide your money under a mattress. And if you do that, how would you deter theft? What could you put in a room that would say to people, "There's nothing here worth stealing?" - We decide to do the movie. We're heading over there now. Actually, only 2 of us stayed to watch it, and we found out why the people who voted for it didn't bother to show up - they didn't want to be embarrassed and have to explain why they picked something so bad. The cartoon series that's based on it has better writing, better acting, more character development, and a higher intelligence level. - That's it for this week.
