SFLIS Minutes - March 6, 2002

- There's a USS Enterprise desk lamp for sale on ebay.  Some of Captain Kirk's
  sperm was also for sale by a green-skinned alien lady.
- SAGA is meeting this Saturday in the IMU Wheelroom.  Starts at 2 and ends
  whenever people decide to leave.
- We start the meeting now.
- Star Wars Ep. 2, Attack of the Bad Names/Star Wars 90210/Attack of the
  Clowns.  It might start on May 16, or it might be the 19th.  Or some other
  time.  But we're pretty sure it's in May sometime.
  We take down the names of people interested in going to see it.
- ICON and Gamicon are changing hotels for this year.  They'll be changing
  from the Sheraton 4 Points to the Clarion.
  But they will still be in the same building with the same staff, same
  room rates, same convention space, etc.  The only thing that's changing
  is the name of the hotel, and that will happen on June 1.
- A couple articles are passed around:  a new high-definition DVD standard
  which will allow companies to keep their old pressing plants, but which
  will make all existing players obsolete, forcing consumers to go out and
  buy new expensive equipment.  Nothing's been decided for sure yet, though.
- There's an anime show this Sunday, March 10, C125 Poppajohn Business Bldg.
  1-8pm.
  The next show after this will be on Easter weekend.
- There's a Mindbridge meeting right after this meeting, right here, at 6:30.
- A watch that's also an address book and a small computer is passed around.
- We're having a movie night next Wednesday, March 13.  We even have a room
  and some equipment.  We'll be showing Evolution.
- Chuck Jones died a couple weeks ago.  He was 89.
- Nobody here has anything they want to discuss that they could be blackmailed
  about.
- Ok, now we're struggling to fill up the time remaining until Mindbridge
  starts.
  What's the worst gaming supplement ever produced?
  D&D 3rd edition.
  Or a Rift supplement.
  Or Lancers Rockers from 'Robotech.'
- They've opened up the back of the restaurant now, so we decide to move there
  because there's more room and to get away from the cigarette smoke.
