SFLIS Minutes - January 16, 2002 - Anime fliers are passed around. Next SWAMP show is Jan. 27, C125 Pappajohn Business Bldg. With lots of stuff nobody's heard of. Other shows for the spring semester will be Feb. 3 and 24, March 10 and 31, April 14 and 28. SWAMP will have membership numbers this year. 3-digit numbers. Who will get 999, or 666, or 007? - It's quiet in here. Is everyone communicating telepathically? Josh and Josh are missing. There's a remote controlled tank cruising around the tabletop. - Jennifer Roberson will be the author guest at ICON this year. - There's a book discussion of Fellowship of the Ring, book and movie, at Barnes & Noble tonight. - Anyone interested in getting together to do Oriental Adventures roleplaying on a regular basis? - There may be lots of prizes at Gamicon Lite, depending on what people find when they're cleaning. How many Webs Games do we have left? And of course, Gamicon Lite is Feb. 8-10 at the IMU. - Dean Haglin (whose name I'm not sure how to spell) will be at Penguins comedy club in Cedar Rapids on Jan. 18 and 19. A bunch of us went to see him last time he was there, a few years ago. (He's from the X-Files, in case you're wondering.) - Josh has arrived, but Josh is still missing. - Space pirates was fun. More people should show up. There will be another one in February. - We'll try for a movie night the 2nd Wednesday in February. Wednesday the 13th. Galaxy Quest, maybe. Or Shrek, or Metropolis. How many decimal places to you know pi to? What's the 27th digit? Marty can recite it up to about 50 decimal places. Unless he's making it up. The 27th digit is 3. Maybe. What if you suddenly have to calculate Pluto's orbit to within a micron? You never know when you might have to take off on the spur of the moment and go there. GURPS stands for Generic Universal Role Playing System. - Rumor has it that they took N'Sync's bit out of Star Wars. The 20th James Bond movie is in the works.
