SFLIS Minutes - January 9, 2002 - Lots of important stuff happened last week, but the world may never know about it because the secretary wasn't at the meeting. - We finished voting on our constitution and it is now officially adopted. The university required us to change some of the wording to meet their requirements. We had to put in a six-line list of people we don't discriminate against. We're still not sure if anyone was left out or not. White males aren't mentioned specifically, but are probably included under race and gender. Other than that, it's pretty much the same as before. - We have money in the SFLIS account. No we don't. Or do we? - Henry is here representing ISCA. SFLIS Fandom And Gin needs a moderator, and it needs to be someone from SFLIS. Scott has volunteered, so we're ok now. - The Mindbridge site has been revamped. Take a look at it at www.mindbridge.org - No anime show flyers yet. Next show will probably be Jan. 27. The room request for the spring semester has been submitted, but is not confirmed yet. - N'Sync is confirmed for Star Wars ep. 2. We were too scared to read the rest of the article. Considering that it's 'Attack of the Clones,' N'Sync might be appropriate. - Gamicon Lite is Feb. 8-10. There will be RPGA and non-RPGA events. Josh and the undead cow will be there. Maybe some cows on helium, too. - The X-Files, since they're missing one of their main characters, should it be called the Why Files? Y2K Files? Y2K+2 Files? Ex-X-Files? - How about some gaming anime for Gamicon Lite. No anime room is planned at this time, but we discussed a few titles to show. A couple gaming-related ones, and others to use as punishment for people. Maybe a place to go if your RPG character dies or misbehaves? - Vegetarians and used tofu. Cheese sandwiches and "That's disgusting." Vegetables in a cream sauce. - Saturday night, there will be space pirates at Serendipity, starting at 8pm. This month, it's "Blackmail at the Black Hole." - SAGA: No more rejections to report. They'll be going through SFLIS for now to reserve rooms. - Ghost World is a really good movie, won an award, and wasn't shown in theaters anywhere. Or hardly anywhere. - An aerial view of the city is passed around. Can you tell where Gamicon Lite will be? How about the next anime show? For directions to Gamicon Lite, we could provide a map of the universe. Now the discusion moves on to statistics and Hisenberg. Or Heisenberg. Then A Wrinkle in Time, and then used Ursula LeGuin books. People who borrow books from the SFLIS desk always return them, whether we want them to or not. - Somebody leaves, so we decide the meeting's over.
