SFLIS Minutes - August 21, 2002 - Just caught the end of this discussion, but something about requiring people to dress up as Sailor Moon before they're allowed to take pictures at AnimeIowa this weekend. - What movie should we show in September? Delicatessan, Demolition Man, Flash Gordon, Flesh Gordon (just kidding), Attack of the Cosmic Cheerleaders, Metropolis (the original one from the 1920s), Final Fantasy. We still have plenty of time to decide. - We need to fill out a student recoginition form so we will be recognized instead of unrecognizable, sometime in the next two weeks. - Now we discuss some ways to get even with newscasters reading stuff off of teleprompters. Tounge-twisters, maybe. Or make them speak in rhymes. - AnimeIowa is this weekend. And we have more discussion of attendance and space, which may or may not become a problem. Best solution would be to start our own chain of fandom hotels built especially for SF, anime, gaming, or whatever, with each one scalable to the size of the con. - There's a transforming robot at the meeting today. It doesn't transform into a convention center, though. - We conclude the meeting with a bunch of random discussion, such as breaking equipment at a tv station, Windows NT servers, and the AnimeIowa video schedule.
