SFLIS Minutes - November 14, 2001 - We start out with a discussion of religions and some of the clothing worn by some of the people from those religions. Islam, Judaism, Christianity, etc. Wearing doilies on your head (nobody can remember what they're called, but they look like doilies). We think they're worn by Catholic women. What are those things that Amish women wear? A wimple (not sure about the spelling) is a thing a nun wears, but nuns aren't the only people who wear them. Cones are worn by Madonna. Josh has a really informative coloring book on medieval dress. - Somebody's going whale riding. - On Fox 28/40, Buffy ran 6 minutes over. - A draft of the constitution for SAGA (Students Actively Gaming & Associates) is passed around. Officer positions available include President (a.k.a. Minister of Sexy Naughty Love, Warrior Emperor/Empress, The Big Noise... (this will probably be left off of the copy that's submitted to the university.)) - Movie night tonight. City of Lost Children and if time, another French film. Nobody was sure of the title, but it has something to do with angels. Both are in French with subtitles. In the Ohio State room right after the meeting. - SWAMP. There's an anime show Sunday the 18th. S207 Poppajohn, 1-8pm. The December 2 show will probably be mostly old magical girl shows, Minky Momo, Magical Emi, etc. Stuff you might be embarassed to let people know you're watching. Bring your insulin! Then there will be a regular show on the 9th. - Marty has the biggest floppy in the room: 8 inches! It can hold up to 180K of stuff, and there are even a couple computers on campus that still have drives that it will fit in. - We run out of stuff to talk about. - Next Wenesday at Barnes&Noble, the SF discussion group will be discussing Daughter of the Empire by Raymond Feist (Fiste, Fyst, ...) - Will the Harry Potter movie be any good? - Computers at the university library are so locked down that you can't do anything with them. - I was called "Sir" by someone who asked what time it is. It's 6:00. - BBSW gaming system (Big Boobs, Small Waist), also Macho Women with Guns, which looks pretty hilarious. - Lord of the Rings on Dec. 19. Since there's a Mindbridge meeting right after SFLIS, we'll be going to the 9:00 showing at Sycamore Mall. - Movie night starts any minute now, so we start thinking about heading over there.
