SFLIS Minutes
SFLIS MIUTES - MARCH 3, 1999
- Mail: Free movie at the IMU - Killer of Sheep
Flyer for "Fear" by L. Ron Hubbard
- SFLIS personal profile sheets are here. Take one, fill it out, turn it
in to one of the officers. Or someone else. Tell us about yourself.
There's even a space for comments, questions, and smart remarks.
- Robin Bailey is starting chemotherapy for cancer. We signed a couple
cards to send to him.
- There's an anime show Sunday. Said to be a "lame" one. "It sucks.
Don't even bother showing up." Those who do show up will get to see
some post-apocalyptic anime, such as "Wind Named Anmesia" and "Fist of
the North Star."
It's at the usual time and place - C125 Poppajohn, 1-8pm.
Future shows: March 28 (looks like I was't writing fast enough)
April 11 Sorcery and Sword
April 18 Big 4th anniversary show
- SWAMP survey results: Details are available on the SWAMP webpage.
People were in favor of a SWAMP emailing list and a new t-shirt.
Looks like SWAMP won't be electing its own officers any time soon.
Probably just as well, since a large majority of people claimed to be
unfit to hold public office.
As for Marty's hair, it will be allowed to stay the way it is.
- Gamicon: It happened, and happened well.
281 attendees, counting the dealers. Or maybe 283. Plus 6 people who
paid and then didn't show up. 72 at the door, 44 1-days, 18 visitors.
23 people signed up for next year.
Gamicon made money, so it will happen again.
40 tables in the RPGA tourney.
Centipede was a big hit.
Next year's con will be Gamicon Kappa, with Jeremy, Nigel, Steve Johanns
on concom.
There was some leftover stuff from Hobby Corner available for people to
buy cheap at today's meeting.
- Next Wednesday is movie night, starting at 6:30 in River Room 3 of the
IMU. Suggestions for what to show include Buckaroo Banzai, Monty
Python and the Holy Grail, Monsters and Mazes, Earth Girls are Easy,
and Barbarella. Anyone have a copy of Buckaroo Banzai?
- We could still use a few people to go to IPTV on March 12. Contact
Steve Crow if interested.
- Fellowship gaming at Legends on March 13.

24th, also at Barnes&Noble.
- What should we do on the 31st? Alice in Wonderland? Twister?
We have a room reserved, so we should do something. Come next week
with ideas.

have a table there.
