SFLIS MINUTES - MAY 26, 1999 - Tonight: Gaming after the meeting - our last big event in River Room 3. - Lynda is hoping to move this weekend. The other people should be out of the apartment by then. Next SF book discussion is June 16. - Hijinx at next week's meeting. - The Star Wars thing: There were a few people there for our expedition. He should be at the meeting tonight, so maybe we can ask him then. - Deep Space 9: According to a genuine stolen internal document which is public information, channel 9 is airing the 2-hour series finale at 12:05am Saturday June 5. (actually very early Sunday morning). - TV/Movies: Austin Powers is coming out June 11. Wild Wild West is June 30, probably. Tarzan on June 18. Tim Allen's (the Home Improvement guy) new series is supposedly science fiction. The finale of Buffy didn't air last night. When will they show it? - Anime: Had a show Sunday, but hardly anybody came. Possibly because it was in a new room and started late. A survey was passed around - pick the next series to show. You can also do it through the webpage. http://omocha.shc.uiowa.edu/swamp/surveys.html There should be a flyer for the next two shows by next Wednesday. The AnimeIowa hotel is remodeling in front of the reception desk. They should be done before the con. - Gamicon will NOT be held on Feb. 25-27, 2000 at the Armory, since they will be bringing in a new unit then. Yes, they do occasionally use the Armory for military stuff. Gamicon may be at the Armory a week earlier, or it may be held on the 25th-27th somewhere else.
