UISG/OSL awards program and reception is Wednesday the 28th. Little Bop Noveau is doing a concert at the Wheelroom yesterday. Applications for the Dance Marathon committee are available. A copy of "Education Update" Iowa State Fair parade on Aug. 11 needs volunteers. - Tomorrow is the "ides of April." You can preorder it with the cover you choose, and they will ship it to your house if you want. There's also a 30% discount available. So far, at least one person has ordered all 4. Question: Was the author allowed to see the script before writing the book? - SF reading group is discussing "The Lost World" by Arthur Conan Doyle at Barnes&Noble, 7pm April 21. - We have a table at Riverfest (in theory). We left a note at their desk, since there's never anybody there and there's no way to email them and their website has very little information. The date is April 24, but we don't know the time yet. - If anyone wants SFLIS to reserve a room for them in the IMU for the 1999-2000 academic year, let us know before May 1. - We agree to allow Dreamwell Theater to reserve rooms under SFLIS's name like they've done before. They'll give us ads in their program books if we want. - Gamicon will put in their room requests after their meeting on the 24th. - Only 8 episodes of Deep Space 9 left. Some theories about why: It's already been on for 7 years, and they don't want it to run longer than Next Generation. They wanted to avoid giving the actors the automatic wage increases that come with the 8th season. - Demicon's hotel rooms are all booked up, but there are other rooms in the hotel still available. But wait a minute - wasn't Demicon supposed to get ALL the rooms in the hotel? - Anything else? - Zebras.
