SFLIS MINUTES - DECEMBER 9, 1998

- In case anyone is wondering, we WILL have meetings on the 16th and 23rd.
  Even though attendance may not be very good.
  Marty says that if only one or two people show up, and he's one of them,
  he'll buy dinner for everyone there.
- Somebody asked if our constitution is on the SFLIS web page.  It isn't.
  Since the one that was voted on a couple years ago is nowhere to be
  found, it was suggested that we write a new constitution - one that
  can be sung.  That way, we can have an oral tradition and the
  constitution will never be lost again.
- We have about $72.60.
  A suggestion to raise more money:  have a porn festival on campus,
  like they did 20 years ago.
  It was pointed out that this could possibly cause some problems.
- Mail:  Winter Reception 98 - an open house at the Old Capitol building
  on Friday Dec. 11, 3-5pm.  President Coleman and representatives from
  the UISG will be there.
- Gamicon:  A mailing is going out this week.
  Game days at Legends on Dec. 19 and Jan. 23.  Come, have fun, and
  spend lots of money.
- Gamicon is wrapping at Barnes&Noble 6-9pm Dec. 15.
- Discussion of Forever War by Joe Haldeman at Barnes&Noble tonight
  (last night by the time you read this.)
- Questions:  How much money has Mindbridge gotten from Amazon so far?
  When is the next Mindbridge meeting?
- Anime:  There was a show Sunday.  Lots of food there, lots of food
  left over.  Everyone had a good time.  Body counts are as follows:

- Supercon is Superbowl weekend - Jan. 29-31, in Rochester, MN.
  According to their webpage it's at the Comfort Inn.

  $30 at the door.  It's too late to prereg.
  They have a hot tub almost 1/2 the size of this room.
- Plattecon mu is the weekend after Gamicon.  Con of the North is
  the weekend before Gamicon.
- Showing SF movies on campus - Nobody is giving us a definite answer on
  the legalities, where and how to get permission.  They're happy to
  let us do it, though.  We'll work on this some more, probably try
  one show to start with and see what happens.
- Does SFLIS have a faculty advisor?  How do we find out if we have one?
