SFLIS MINUTES - NOVEMBER 25, 1998

Only 4 of us here today.
- Mail: A stack of flyers from Gamicon.
A note saying that we'll be getting mail from Riverfest.
- No old business.
- Anime: Fliers were passed around.
There was a show Sunday. Attendance had its ups and downs, but was good
overall. Some people apparently don't have the endurance to stay all
  the way to the end.
Next show is Dec. 6. The TBA Christmas special will probably include an
  episode of Saber Marionettes J.
- Cat and dog quotes were passed around. Also an Image catalog of LD, DVD
  releases.
- Various versions of the Star Wars trailer are available. The quality
varies with the amount of disk space it takes up.
- Gamicon: Due to a clerical error, the Gamicon vote will take place
next week. (Nobody brought the voting box to our desk in the IMU.
(Since the SAC was closed from Tuesday - Sunday, the box probably still
isn't there.(Who has the box, anyway?)))
- Gamicon is still working on a guest of honor.
If anyone wants to run something, talk to Jeremy Hitchcock now.
The Gamicon mailing will go out soon.
- The Babylon 5 Interstellar Alliance will be showing the series finale
"Sleeping in Light" at 6pm Friday Dec. 4, room W10 PBAB.
- On Dec. 6, the White Lion RPGA club will have a module starting at 2.
At Legends. There will be a Gamicon meeting there at noon on the same
  day.
- Due to "person on business trip" syndrome, the November Mindbridge
meeting will not take place in November. It will take place.......
  some other time.
- Shaun Con XVI was held in Kansas City. It was pretty good. Jointly
put on by the Role Players Guild of Kansas City and Thunder Castle
Games. Lots of Highlander stuff. Lots of other stuff, too. The
schedule had some long breaks between slots.
- There are 6 people here now.
- TV: This week's shows are mostly new.
X-Files will be a spoof-type, fun episode. Not sure exactly what.
- Enemy of the State opened last weekend. The Star Wars preview was
"deafening." But you can't really appreciate something like that
unless it makes the jelly in your eyeballs vibrate.
- Looks like the attendance at this meeting is going to end up being 7.
- Now we had some discussion of the Netscape/AOL merger and what will
  come of it.
Then we moved on to LD, DVD, DTV, and a lot of other acronyms.
