SFLIS MINUTES - JUNE 3, 1998

- Mail:  The UISG is inviting student organizations to submit information
  about themselves to be used in an information fair this summer.  The
  actual organizations will not take part in this fair - only their information
  will.
- Amazon.com has an associates program with which people may be able to earn
  money or get discounts on books and stuff by linking to Amazon from their
  websites.  Should SFLIS do this?

- Voting on Mindbridge has started and will continue until next week's meeting.
  So everyone, read the bylaws and information and then vote.

- Gamicon Lite could not get rooms in the IMU on the 28th, so the date has
  been changed to July 18.  They have rooms reserved on the 3rd floor of the
  IMU from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  There is also a LARP in downtown Iowa City on the same day.
- There is an anime show on Sunday June 14, C107 PBAB, 1-8 p.m.
  Flyers for the show were passed around.  Hot off the press, hadn't
  even been proofread yet.
- New Babylon 5 and Southpark this week.
- 16 days till the XFiles movie.
  Tadao IS in Godzilla, from the neck down at least.  For a few seconds.
  There is Godzilla ice cream.
- A cheesy science fiction movie is being made in Des Moines, for release
  direct to video.  A bunch of DMSFS people have auditioned.  Les Roth has
  been asked to do one of the secondary roles for a couple hundred dollars.
  The script evidently leaves something to be desired as it has been said
  that "Jeanette could write a better script drunk."
- The DMSFS constitutional convention and bash is the weekend of July 4.
  They're looking into the possibility of having it in a hotel this year.
- The English version of "Kiki's Delivery Service" was shown in Seattle a
  couple weeks ago.  According to a review in Otaku World, Disney didn't
  do irreparable damage to it.
- We call it quits.
