SFLIS MINUTES - MAY 13, 1998

A bit of discussion before the meeting:
  Deep Impact is supposed to be good if you ignore the science.
  In Godzilla, the monster looks like a modified tyrannasaurus(?)
  tyrranasaur....?   like a modified t-rex.  Not the way Godzilla is
  supposed to look.
- 5:30, the meeting starts.
- We didn't get any mail this week.
- The Cedar Rapids symphony concert on May 1 was good.
- Godzilla opens next weekend.
  Xfiles movie June 19.
  We're still counting down the time until Armageddon.
- TV - Xfiles season finale is Sunday.
  Babylon 5 reruns for 2 more weeks.  Then it starts over again.
  Seinfeld ends this week.
- Southpark is available on video - 3 tapes so far.
- ICON will have a meeting this week to figure out what's going on, catch up
  on business.
  Deadline for LARP submissions is July 1.
  Make your hotel reservations as soon as you can.
  Preregistration ends sometime, probably Labor Day.  Nobody at the meeting
  knew for sure.
- Gamicon:  A meeting to write up the bylaws for Gamicon,Inc.  will be at
  the Maakestad's at noon on Sunday. (Oops.  I was supposed to say 11:30 so
  people would show up on time.)
- There's a Babylon 5 tournament at Legends on Saturday.
- No anime news this week.
- Meeting's over.  10 minutes, 30 seconds, breaking last week's record.
- Post-meeting announcement:  Gamicon Light is June 28.  Location to be
  announced.
- And one question:  Should we let people sign the attendance sheet if they're
  10 minutes late and miss the meeting?
