SFLIS MINUTES - April 29, 1998
- There was one piece of campus mail this week. A talk being given by an
African writer in exile. Nobody knew how to pronounce his name.
- ICON: No report.
- SWAMP's 3rd anniversary show was Sunday. It went pretty well. They gave
away lots of stuff.
- Several people had brain shutdowns at 3:30 this afternoon.
- Gamicon had a meeting. They'll be competing with Winter Fantasy unless
they change the date.
- Demicon is this weekend. The 4th and 5th floors of the hotel are finished.
The rest of it is a little messy. The function space is mostly ok.
As of last weekend, the pool was empty and the hot tub was not installed yet.
It may or may not be ready before the con.
But people should go to Demicon anyway because they will have guests and a
very funny TICC musical comedy and lots of gaming.
It's at the Sheriton 4 Points Hotel in Des Moines.
- Concussion is in Omaha in July. And speaking of cons...
- The Cannes Film Festival is coming up. And speaking of films...
- These will be comming soon:
Deep Impacts - something about comets
Armageddon
Godzilla
- There are too many people talking at once and it's hard to hear. I might
have missed something.
- Merlin wasn't bad.
- No new Southpark until May 20.
- Rumor has it that work has started on a Dilbert animated tv show.
- Another rumor about a possible South Park movie.
- The Simpsons just had its 200th episode.
- Now there are LOTS of people talking at once. Here's what it sounds like:

- From the Earth to the Moon on HBO is good.
- SFLIS had a table at Riverfest, but it was really hard to find. (I couldn't
find it, anyway)
- Meeting is gone.
