SFLIS MINUTES - JANUARY 28, 1998

- We had a lot of mail this week, mostly regarding university activities and
  policies.  It was read and passed around.
- A lot of things were passed around.  And around and around.......
- List of South Park episodes for the next couple months.
- Prereg's for Gamicon must be postmarked before midnight Jan. 31.
- New event at Gamicon - GPA pentathlon. (That's Game Publishers Association,
  not Grade Point Average).  Play in five GPA games and get points for each.
  The people with the highest totals get prizes.
- We have a ConCom bid for Gamicon Iota:  Jon Maakestad, Beckey Benhart,
  Jeremy Hitchcock, Galen Silversmith.
  Voting on this will run for two weeks, from now until the Feb. 11 SFLIS
  meeting.
- There will be a total news blackout from ICON until after Gamicon.
- SuperCon was fun.  There was caviar, champagne, chocolate.  But no hot tub
  because the hotel hadn't finished remodeling.
- There was an anime show last weekend.  If you weren't there, you missed it.
  Next show is Feb. 8, where you can vote for the next series to go through.
  Choices include Escaflowne, Nadesico, Yawara, and a couple others.
  Write-in votes will also be accepted.
- SFLIS till be going to Des Moines on March 13 to help out with IPTV's
  telethon.  If you're going, you need to sign up by Friday Feb. 6.
  You may even get to meet Mike Frisby (Frisbe? Frisbi? you know, the guy
  who floats around in the middle of the screen with the cheesy background
  effects  :)   )  And if you know of anyone from Britain that we could
  borrow for the evening.....
