SFLIS Minutes October 29, 1997
-
o Elections continue. Voting will be for the next two weeks. To remind
-
--Pres: Henry and Mick
-
--VPres: Jon (Lynda withdrew her nomination since we have a patsy.)
-
--Treas: Galen Silversmith (who can not complain since he nominated
himself...)
-
--Sect: David Leach (I will be the fake David Leach until his return.
For all you know I could just be adopting a new identity, like Elvis did.)
-
--Goat: Mick and RC (incumbent) and Steeve
-
--Mascots: Dog Versus Ferrets in an all out grudge match.
-
o Galen did a preside thing tonight, although Lynda did come in about
3/4 of the way in.
-
o Michele sez Joe Haldeman's new book "Forever Peace" is out. Get your
hardback signed by Joe versions at Prairie Lights for a 25% discount while they
last!
-
o We are undertaking a project to send SF books to Bulgaria, if we can
get someone to spearhead the effort. We actually had an e-mail request for used
books for someone from there, and we thought we might try to get the bookstores
locally to help pay for the shipping costs. More on this as it develops.
-
o Cath, Bryon and Steve tout their Halloween party. Friday, come in
costume, bring munchies, wear a suit, play geek jeopardy, wear a suit. I said I
would post directions, but I'm much too lazy now to do so. What do you want?
I've just done three late nights in a row. So sue me. Anyway, if you want to
come RSVP at (319) 362-2153, and we'll give you directions.
-
o Marty reminds that the Anime show is this Sunday, in c107 Pappajohn
at the usual time, with the usual suspects.
-
o Sunday is the season premiere of some conspiracy show about FBI
agents. The something files? I forget...
