This Friday: Come here Elyce Helford speak in the Purdue room of the Union at 5:15 on women and science fiction.

If you're going to IPT, meet at the Best Western at 7. If you can drive, please do so (as if that made sense)

Simon may be doing the "funding is provided by" spots for IPT. He gets to record one anyway.

Lost in Space soon to begin production
Star Wars the 20-40 year prequel, which features middle aged Kenobi and young Anniken Skywalker who fights with the dark side of the force. Hey, don't we know how this ends?
Memorial Day--Lost World, that dino extravaganza!
June -- 5th Element, which spent $100,000,000 on special effects. (Yeah, but didn't Water World do something like that?)
Also Batman and Robin, Men in Black, Disney's Hercules, Krull the Conqueror (for you Kevin Sorbo fans)
July -- Contact, based on Carl Sagan's novel.
August--Spawn, Gadika, and Event Horizon
September--Dark City and Starship Troopers

Marty says bimonthly anime is going well. Once again, this Sunday in Pappajohn C107 from 1-8.

Gregg has talked to his friends at the University observatory. Hale-Boppe is still best viewed with your own binoculars, but a group will convene at the observatory on Saturday at 6:30pm or thereabouts to look at the comet. Bring beer and your binocs. You're bound to see something. Gregg will post necessary directions and such on the ISCA board.

For those of you who can't make Saturday, April and May are still going to offer good viewing times for Hale-Boppe.

Garrot Wang (Lt Henry Kim) will be the guest at Trek Productions in Rockford on Saturday March 22. General admission is $15 at the door. Reserve seating (which includes a signing by Kim guarentee on a first come/ first serve basis is $20 in advance and $25 at the door. All this happens in Rockford from 11am to 7pm

Also an area happening. Nebula Awards weekend on April 18-20 in Kansa s City at the Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza. Just to go is $25. To go and eat is $55. To buffet with the stars for lunch is $11. Many big names will be there, including Jack Vance, who will receive a grandmaster of science fiction award.

A moment of silence was held for the passing of Terry Nation--co-creator of Dr. Who's evil nemeses The Daleks.
