Lynda had two personal announcements.
She has a brain tumor, most likely benign, in her pituatary.
She will update us about treatment as she knows.
Rob and Lynda are now engaged. She will also keep us abreast of
wedding plans.
Greg brought a great cat cartoon.
Also from Greg: Alois has found an apartment in Mineapolis. On Saturday at 2:00 there will be a moving party at Alois's old place, 601 Keokuk, for anyone who'd like to help.
Bryon announced and circulated Snow Flake fliers. The dates for the con are February 14-16. The con is in Kansas City.
Michelle is looking for anyone who's going to Winter Fantasy. She needs a room for Saturday night, and would like to leave Saturday and return Sunday.
Michelle and Andy are putting together a tentative proposal for Gamicon Theta. They need one or two more people on the committee. Sue West is pending. If you're interested, please talk to Michelle or Andy.
By the way, Happy New Year everybody!
Greg mentions the Minstiff Pool party in Minneapolis, also on February 14.
Michelle reminds that the deadline for reduced Gamicon fees is January 15. After that, even the GM's have to pay $17.00.
Also, please get your GMing forms in as soon as possible.
Achmed is looking for a room to share at Minicon. Greg informs that no one knows about Minicon rooms yet, but when you find out, please contact Achmed. He's looking.
Lynda mentions that Demicon is in a new hotel, and there are 20 rooms less than before. Get registered soon if you want a room, because they'll probably sell out. And be a good fan--share your rooms.
Achmed is looking for Castle Falkenstein books he can borrow. He'd like to GM it, but doesn't want to pay the big bucks. If anyone can help him out, please let him know.
Michelle says that there is a block of rooms at the Super 8 for out of town Gamiconners, but tell your out of town friends soon, because we let 'em go if they aren't booked soon.
The volunteer list for Gamicon will circulate next week.
The Gaming Schedule for Gamicon should be available the 20th, or 23rd, somewhere in there.
Jon announces that The Relic will be out next week. We'll try to organize a SIF outing next week.
Michelle mentions that the Magic Tournament at Gamicon will be a Type 2 Qualifier tournament for the tournament in France. If you'd like to win a heavily subsidized trip to France, and see the City of Light for little money, sign up. (Paris, where the only thing Seine is the river)
Simon gave us TV updates
Both Millenium and the X-Files are new this week.
Trial of the Time Lords begins this week.
Mulder and Scully are on the Simpsons on Sunday.
Also, Voyager is new this week.
New Babylon 5 should appear sometime in early February.
Lynda is searching for the Pinky and the Brain video where the parts of the brain are identified. Bryon says he can supply it.
Gamicon's GM party is February 8 from 12-4. Location is yet undetermined.
Much fun was had at Cath, Bryon, and Steve's New Year's Eve Party. Of course, any party is only as good as its guests...
Michelle and Jon circulated the Star Fleet Promenade catalogue, just in case you have too much money, and you want to get rid of some. By the way, now you can buy Star Fleet Barbie.
And that's all the news that's fit to print. This is evil Mantis Zorak entertaining you with evil--no, I mean this is Rumor, signing off for this week.
Minor correction, the Minicon Pool Party/MNSTF meeting is on Saturday Feb 15.
