SFLIS Minutes December 4, 1996

SFLIS Minutes from Meeting Dated December 4, 1996

Wallace and Grommit was on 7pm tonight.

The Visions Con Review. Claudia Christian and Richard Biggs were really good to their fans, constantly signing autographs even when it wasn't officially time. An interesting discovery was that Masquerades and Costume contests don't mix. DON'T try this at future cons. Dealers room at Visions was pretty spiff.

In January, Red Dwarf 7. Chris Barrie is in the first four. He will come back for 8 after all. There are 8 episodes this time out.

Next SWAMP Anime--December 15, in the Indiana Room at IMU from 1-10.

Marty has a copy of XOGenesis, in which Wolf maligns ICON in Ellison's column, which has been discussed recently in this very cyberspace. He's willing to lend it out, or may have tonigh, perhaps to an avid reading pecan...

Gamicon is taking pre-regs. They are offering inserts in the con survival pack. We're looking for someone to put together the con insert for SIF. Gamicon right now has more pre-regs than it had total memberships last year. Wow! And, that's not even counting the pecans...

Simon's SAC Letter about opening up the office space and/or putting mail somewhere else was proofed and approved. Simon'll get that zipped up and out this week. It'll go to Lori Berger and Mark Beltrane, those folks who can cut red tape (or wrap with it.)

Myrna has found a job.

This week's Dr. Who--Vengeance on Varos. This is a good Colin Baker episode.

XFiles will be repeats until New Year's. Rat Boy is back.

DS9 is repeating.

B5 is repeating.

Thanks to Brooks and Blase for bringing books for free to this week's meeting. They have been promoted in the hierarchy of the cosmos to godhood for this week, which by the way is made possible through one of the perks of the presidency.

If you want to volunteer for Gamicon, please call Jeremy Hitchcok who is that con's volunteer coordinator. His number is 338-4526.

The next Gamicon Meeting is 12-4 on Sunday at the Iowa City Public Library. Please note the place change since SAC is closed for break.

The University of Iowa needs network people desparately. If you have networking experience, now is a good time to apply.

A potential filking night is going to take place at Lynda's roommate approval pending. The cat and snake don't sing, but the rabid pecans might.

Pecans will be in the Gamicon survival pack, so watch out for the teeth.

And remember, the person in back always wants to get out first.

Until next week.
