Better late than never, it's the...
SFLIS Minutes from 11-27-96 (Had way too much turkey, how 'bout you
guys?)
-
A small but mighty crowd braved the perils of our first measurable snow
fall and showed up for the meeting.
-
Lynda read the first chapter of Peter Beagle's Folk of the Air.
-
Cath brought Christmas bread for all.
-
Tomorrow is (was?) Thanksgiving.
-
The recent trek movie was pretty good.
-
Rob went to Shaun Con in Kansas City. The con there cleared $1000 for
the local food bank. On the second day, there were many vampire gamers. If you
want cheap fireworks, Missouri's the place to be right now.
-
The SAC is closed from December 17-January 15. The biggest drawback is
that we SIF folks can not pick up our mail when the center's closed (go
figure.) Simon will write a letter suggesting a modification to the center's
vacation to overcome this problem.
-
From Simon, some TV announcements.
-
Millenium will show the Kingdom Come episode this week.
-
This week's Dr. Who is the shouting Colin Baker in "Attack of
the Cybermen."
-
Wallace and Grommit on IPT next Wednesday at 7pm.
-
If you attend your local Star Trek film, you can see the previews for
the respiffed Star Wars trilogy.
-
Xena has her body back on the show. She is no longer the evil antiXena.
-
The large Xena doll is very, very ugly, but collectible.
-
Only 180 shopping days until GENCON!
-
Alien Nation: The Enemy Within was pretty good. The same production
company will produce the Babylon 5 movies when the show is over.
-
There are Star Trek postage stamps now.
-
This weekend in Chicago--Visions. Babylon 5 guys, Dr. Who Guys,
Forever Night Guys, and Robin of Sherwood Guys, as well as a host of British
television fans represented. Cath and Bryon are going, and will deliver a
report next week.
-
BTW, the Bab 5 guys will be in Texas in February.
-
Independence Day is out (The cooler wide screen version will reach you
next year.)
-
The first of many wishes for happy Holidays from the secretary. Errors,
typos, and so forth are solely my--er--well--
