SFLIS Minutes November 13, 1996

We have a new president. Lynda Sherman once again takes the SFLIS helm for another year. Her right hand dog is Zoey Monthei, who won for Vice-President. Zoey's official attache is Noel Burns, and since Zoey is a very busy dog, most of her VP concerns can be addressed to Noel.

Chattacon from Chattanooga sent information about their Con. Guests include Harry Turtledove, Esther Friesner, Tom Kidd, Charles Gant, and Daryll Elliot.

Anime shows this weekend, Sunday, November 17th, from 1pm-10pm in the Lucas-Dodge Room of the Memorial Union. The theme is ghost hunter anime.

Quad Con, a gaming con, takes place in the Quad Cities this weekend. A SFLIS expedition is going early on Saturday at 6am if anyone is interested. More drivers are also being sought. The cost for Quad Con is $15 for the weekend, $6 for the day, but Quad con prices have been known to fluctuate. Best bet is to take around $20 dollars, and see what happens.

All of last weekend's entertainment options were fairly successful. Fields of Honor got a special plug as they were very supportive of Gamicon.

Next weekend is Star Trek, the next one. Discussion still is ongoing about organizing an expedition--possibly out of town.

Space Jam also opens soon. When and where? The toys for it are available at MacDonald's, not to be confused with the Toy Story toys, which are available at Burger King.

Gamicon registration is still ongoing, and dollars wil happily be accepted.
