There might be a video room in addition to the anime room that would show "Babylon 5" and other tapes that folks might be able or remember to bring.
There will be cooperative child care at ICON. You do not have to have children to be part of the program. If you want to care for someone else9s child or children, come one, come all.
ICON Voluntary bonus: Volunteer one hour and get one raffle ticket toward the drawing at the end of ICON. Increase your chances of winning something by volunteering.
TICC skit needs people for commercials and other parts. By the way, the TICC skit is titled "Worf for the Oaks" which is a parody on a work by one of this ICON's Guest of Honor (GoH).
Anime will have a 3Swords & Sorcery2 showing September 22, 1996, in C107 PBAB. Flyers handed out. Also, the deadline for registering for the Anime Festival is through ICON. Registry early! Other anime news: there are three cells from the anime movie 3GenoCyber2 (spelling?) at Daydreams for $45 per cell. It is autographed (?) and has production sketches on the back.
Lynda Sherman announced that she is enjoying another Roger Zelazny book titled "Creatures of Light and Darkness." She summarized a bit of it and said she might read from it next time if she remembers to bring it. :)
Lynda also announced that Cub Foods is selling Crayola Crayons BY THE POUND! Get out to Cub Foods and check it out if you're into reclaiming your childhood fantasies about all of the colored crayons you can eat ... uh, I mean ... use. Yeah, that's right, use. :)
Look for a local production of the play titled 3From Beyond2 on Public Access TV sometime after the semester is over around the Winter Holidays. More information will undoubtedly become available as plans and such for this become finalized.
October 24 begins a new season of "X-Files."
FREE CAKE! (at this meeting only) Simon Irvine brought cakes because as this is the beginning of another semester at the University of Iowa, it MUST be SFLIS's birthday.
Starting September 22 or 23, "Highlander" (TV series) will be shown at 6:00 PM 5 days/week on the USA Network. No more rushing home from work to catch your favorite show, just relax and take your time. Heck! You might even be able to get or fix yourself dinner.
New "Alien Nation" movie coming October 15th(?). Watch for it!
